Malaysian Hospitality

After months of praising their mums cooking, Iman and her sisters finally invited Riccardo and myself to a home cooked roast dinner – at which Mama Preece did not disappoint. Given a choice of three types of chicken, I was quickly stuffing my face with the first roast dinner I’d had since coming to Malaysia.

Having been living off a diet of restaurants and my own one pot cooking skills, I have come to truly appreciate home cooked meals and this was no exception. Since this meal was on the eve of the Bukit Tabur hike, I tried to go easy not to eat too much, in case I regretted it on the climb (though in hindsight it probably did not make any difference!)

Now, after sampling home cooked Indian food for Diwali 2012 and Chinese cooking for Chinese New Year 2013, I can now also add Malay home cooking to that list to complete my culinary experience.
