Wow, what a hectic couple of weeks. With the flight back to the UK rapidly approaching, I found myself doing many wonderful things to enjoy my time before heading back. Updating the blog took a back seat to this, and so I find myself uploading the entries that cover the last month or so.
First up was my November and December holiday rolled into one: Phuket, Thailand. Going with a group of us from the office, we managed to head off straight after work on a Friday, and arrived in Phuket that night. With a busy schedule planned for the Saturday and Sunday, my friends and I found ourselves given only the Friday night to explore the famous night life of Phuket at Patong Beach. The ferry was due to leave at 8am Saturday morning to head to Phi Phi Island. I returned back home at 6am and gave myself an hours nap. My roommate returned at 7:30am. His plan was to sleep on the ferry, which more or less worked out well since it was another 2 hours to the island.
Due to our late night on Friday, Saturday was spent almost entirely lounging on the beach at Phi Phi Island and taking a boat out to see Maya bay. It was here that the film Beach was shot and it is a spectacular bay that can only be reached by boat.
By Sunday, we had time to relax some more and I found myself having my first ever massage. It was painful at first but it did help release all the knots I had in my back. Safe to say that after that massage I was a lot mellower.
Sunday evening was spent ogling at the sunset back on Phuket before we caught our flight back to KL. As the sun went down I was completely aware that this was my last holiday in South East Asia for a while and felt it was somehow appropriate that I should be spending it with friends watching the sun set on my adventures here. Arriving at midnight, it wasn’t until 3am that we reached home, ready for work at 9am!
All in all, it was a wonderfully relaxing weekend, but that Monday morning was not something I would want to repeat anytime soon.
